Students with Birthday Books from the Book Vending Machine

A large mystery object waited covered up in the library while students made all sorts of predictions as to what it might be. An unveiling/ ribbon cutting ceremony was held February 4th, 2022. Together with a few students from each classroom we discovered it was a book vending machine!

The machine was donated by the W.R. & Floy A. Sauey Family Foundation and Seats, Inc. The Spring Hill Education Foundation helped with the donation process. The funds used to purchase the books for the vending machine were donated by the Dayton Creek PTO. We are extremely grateful for the generous donations! Thank you all!

After the presentation, students with February birthdays were able to get their free birthday book from the vending machine! Students with August birthdays have now received a birthday book to celebrate their half-birthday. Mrs. Dalton, the librarian, is scheduling times for students to come to the library to get their birthday books for December and January. September, October, and November birthdays will be invited during their half-birthday months (March, April, & May). June and July birthdays will receive books in May, as well.

Hooray for free books and hooray for reading!
