Katie Smith
Hello My Name Is...
Katie Smith

Mrs. Smith

I am privileged to have the opportunity to work with the students and families of Dayton Creek. It is my pleasure to introduce myself to you!

I grew up in Olathe, KS and graduated from Olathe South High School in 2004. I then continued my education at Kansas State University (Go Wildcats). I graduated from K-State in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education and in December 2011 I graduated from Baker University with my Master of Arts in education.
The 2021 - 2022 school year will be my fourteenth year of teaching, all of which have been in the Spring Hill School District. I spent my first two years teaching all day kindergarten and the past eleven years in 1st grade. This year I will begin a new adventure as the reading interventionist! I am so excited to help all students grow in their reading.

When I am not at school I stay busy with my two kids, Grant and Gabby. I love watching my kids participate in their numerous sports and activities. I also love being in the outdoors, spending time with family and friends, and reading a good book. Though one of my absolute favorite things to do is watch football, and I can be found cheering on the Packers (and of course the Chiefs)!

I am looking forward to a great year at Dayton Creek!
