Our students are off to a strong start in the final quarter of the school year, diving into learning with enthusiasm, focus, and perseverance. At Dayton Creek, we know that strong family partnerships are key to student success, and we are grateful for the support you provide each day in your child’s learning journey.

We are also proud to share that Dayton Creek has been recognized as a Distinguished Kindness School! This honor reflects the collective efforts of our staff and the outstanding leadership of our Student Lighthouse Team during Random Acts of Kindness Week. Important Dates:  

March 30-April 2 (Monday-Thursday) Literati Book Fair 

      We are excited to host our upcoming Literati BOGO Book Fair! Students will have the chance to preview the books and shop the Book Fair with their class according to this schedule.  Click this link for more details on the Literati Gift Cards. 

       As part of our commitment to fostering a love of reading, Dayton Creek Elementary will gift one free book (up to $9.99) to every student. Thank you so much, Mrs. Dalton, for making this possible as well!

       Families who wish to support our staff may also choose to purchase books as gifts for classroom libraries. Thank you so much for your generosity! 

 

  • Monday, March 30, Book Fair & Leader in Me Family Night  (5:30-6:30 PM)

    • This year’s event will feature a fun sports theme! Our Student Lighthouse Team has been working hard to plan and prepare a variety of engaging stations for families to enjoy. We look forward to seeing our students lead the event and our families enjoy the evening of connection, leadership, and fun!

    • Happy Paraprofessional Appreciation Day!  We are proud to recognize the incredible individuals who support our students and staff each day. Our paraprofessionals play a vital role in creating a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment, and their impact is felt across our entire school community. We are grateful for their dedication, flexibility, and commitment to helping every student succeed! Please join us in celebrating and thanking our amazing team!   • Friday, April 3: NO SCHOOL (Professional Development Day)

    • As we prepare for upcoming state assessments, we invite you to be part of encouraging our students to do their very best! Between 8 AM to 4 PM, parents and guardians of students in grades 3-5 are welcome to stop by the school to write notes of encouragement for our students. Paper, markers, and tables will be set up in the 3–5 hallway for you to leave positive messages of support. Your words make a meaningful difference in helping our students feel confident, supported, and ready to shine!

      • We kindly ask 3rd-5th Grade parents and guardians to avoid scheduling appointments or planning trips on designated testing days whenever possible.

      • As students return from a long weekend prior to testing, we encourage families to help students come back well-rested and ready to focus.Thank you for your support in helping your child feel prepared and confident!

      • What are the tests like? KAP tests are taken online through Kite Student Portal. If you would like to see Student Portal in action, Practice Tests are available online. Try Kite Practice Tests together to help your child feel confident and ready. Refer to the Kite Practice Test Guide for information about accessing these Practice Tests.

Handbook Highlights

WITHDRAWAL PROCEDURE

When a student is withdrawing from the school district, the school district requires a formal records request from the student’s new school district. A formal checkout must occur before any records will be sent.
